my dream vacation

I would love to go to Disney with my WHOLE family. My parents, sister, hubby's parents, his brothers, hubby, Bug, and her brothers! I'm hoping one day we actually all get to go when Bug gets old enough to really enjoy and remember it. Maybe I should start saving now!

if I had a grand to spend on me, myself, and I

I rarely spend money on myself, but if I had to I would buy:

A new wardrobe

New shoes (since I had to toss a lot of mine after Bug made my feet fat)

Maybe a headboard (since I don't have one)

I am dying to get one of these too!

I guess I'd need more than a grand for all of this...but I'd love the wardrobe and shoes over anything! I'm finally back to pre-baby weight (except for my feet) and would love some new clothes and heels!

my favorite meals and recipes

I got this cook book for Christmas and I love it! There are so many great recipes for Bug (and me) to eat. I love making things that we can all eat together and there are yummy recipes in this book!

My favorite meals are:

Fettuccine Alfredo with Chicken

Swedish meatballs (which I don't know how to make)

I loooove Pizza Bagels (on an Everything Bagel)

the best gift I've ever received

My Bug of course! Isn't she sweet?!

She really was a gift. A birthday gift in fact. I got pregnant in October, right around my birthday. I didn't find out until much later, but I always tell my hubby he is off the hook for birthday gifts for life since this was the best one he ever gave me!

something I am looking forward to

I am really looking forward to the nice weather so we can do all I would like to in the Spring/Summer. One specific thing I can not wait to do is take Bug to the Bronx Zoo! She knows lots of her animals now and she gets so excited when she sees a bird, I can only imagine how excited she will be when she sees something way cooler!

 I am also looking forward to Bug's 2nd birthday & party. Her 1st one was so much fun and we had so many people. Her 2nd will be a smaller crowd but I am excited to make her a birthday outfit and themed snacks and decorations. I'm still trying to come up with a non-TV/character theme for her. my favorite authors

 I love Jodi Picoult! I think she is an amazing author. I haven't read many of her books, but I have a few that I am planning to read once I get some free time & take a break from crocheting every spare second I have preping for a craft show.

I have read My Sisters Keeper and most of Change of Heart and they are both amazingly written. I saw the movie based on My Sisters Keeper and it did not do it justice. The book was not only better, but the full story. The movie only told 1/4 of the story!

Another of my favorites...

Nicholas Sparks

His books always make me cry. The movies are great too, but I always read the book first! A Walk to Remember and Dear John are my faves so far. Message in a Bottle is great as well!

I want to look into books on tape so I can "read" while I drive...although I'm sure my daughter will protest since I usually play her CDs of annoying children's music!

how I came up with my blog name

Funny story, I didn't! I was in the Etsy forums, when they were helpful, and someone offered to make a banner for my Etsy shop! He came up with the name based on the few items I had in my shop. I loved it immediately because I remember when I found out I was having a girl I said "yay, now I can play dress up and have tea parties"! It was just a perfect fit, like he read my mind! So there it is, my Etsy shop surname, FB name, Twitter name, and blog name, Tutus & Tea Parties!

something I love about myself

This one is actually pretty easy! I love my eyes! They are hazel and change colors. Sometimes they are greenish and sometimes they are grayish. I think that's pretty cool!

my biggest insecurity

Hmm, I have a few insecurities like my big cheesy smile that everyone makes fun of me for and my nose...not too fond of it, but they don't really bother me much.

I'd have to say my biggest is my stretch marks...and even that isn't too big of an insecurity for me. I just refuse to wear a bathing suit without shorts. I do not mind though because I got them from being pregnant and I love my Bug and would gladly deal with them!

a skill I'd like to learn

I would love to learn how to sew...like for real sew. Not just little projects. I have been addicted to reading DIY blogs and there are so many about sewing and all the projects look absolutely adorable! My mom gave me her old sewing machine but I have yet to attempt to use it. I do want to start with some appliques since that's the reason I purchased my Cricut Machine which I love so very much!  I'm also really wanting to make a pillowcase dress for Bug this summer! She got one as a gift last year and it was adorable and I loved dressing her in it!

 

As for now I will continue to bookmark the projects I'd like to take on as I get into the sewing thing. Hopefully one day soon I will be able to show you what I make!

something I am afraid of

I am so afraid of death. Not just me dying, but anyone close to me. I can't imagine not being with my family and friends. I'm most scared of losing my Bug. There are people in my life who have lost their children (some right after birth) and I don't know how they got through it. I believe that when you die, you are blessed & go to heaven...but it still scares me!

I love this poem...it always helps me feel better about it:

I feel like the world is a scary place these days and you never know what could happen. I try to keep that in mind and not take anything for granted. I call my Nanny almost every day, I visit my parents every Saturday, and I am so lucky to be with my Bug all day, every day! And I always say I love you!

Hmm, I don't think so. If I recall correctly my parents were looking at the credits for a show or movie on TV and saw the name and liked it. I'm pretty sure that's how I got my name.

my least favorite chore 

There are lots of chores I would rather not do but the one I absolutely hate is dusting! We have an entertainment center with 12 shelves...12! They get so dusty so quickly! I use the orange glow on it and it is so annoying to take everything off each shelf to make sure I get all the dust. Not to mention I have a bazillion frames on those 12 shelves that collect just as much dust in just as little time! Ugh, I am hating just thinking about it!

something that bugs me

There are a few things that bug me such as my husband mistaking the floor as the hamper, leaving the toilet seat up, people who don't say thank you when you hold a door open for them...but there is one thing that really, really bugs me...chewing and clinging noises...or annoying noises of any kind.

My ears are bugging out right now just thinking about it! I know my sister is reading this (hi sis) and thinking...yup, and her being annoyed is annoying!

I have this thing with my ears where they literally bug out when I hear noises of people chewing loudly, clinging ice or silverware, or scraping noises. I wish it didn't bug me so much but I can't help it.

something I want to do before I die

 

 

I would love to go skydiving but so far I am too chicken to do it! My friend goes about once a year and absolutely loves it. She keeps asking if I want to go with her and I say yes...but then change that answer to a no in 5 seconds. Maybe one day soon I will get the courage to do this but just the fact that I typed in "skydive" on Google to get a picture and it came up with a menu of search options...the net one being "skydive deaths" didn't help.

 

I went to Disney with my family and did fake skydiving! It was pretty awesome. They put you in this tube with a big fan that blows air and you get to fly up!

I'm not too sure who that is...possibly my sister, not me...but you get the picture

 There are some other things I want to do before I die such as:

• go to Italy or Greece
• Take a road trip
• Go to Disney with the kids
• Have many more kids (but unfortunately I need to win the lotto for that one)

how I relax

Relax, what's that? 


I'm having a little trouble answering this because I get bored doing normal relaxing things such as taking baths or getting a mani/pedi. I would say reading a book but I don't get the chance to do that often so if I do get a chance to read...I'd never get past the first few chapters.


I'm going to say I enjoy sitting on the couch, maybe watching a good old movie or romantic comedy, and crocheting while I watch. It's not often I get to sit and watch a movie without being interrupted at some point during it.

something I do every day

• pray and give thanks for each day
• stress (If you stress too, read this)
• say "I love you" to my daughter & hubby (and whoever else I speak to in my family)

My hubby calls me a worry wart because I am always thinking too much about everything! I make non-stressful situations stressful. I don't know why and I can't help it! I get so worked up sometimes that I give myself panic attacks. I am trying to work on not stressing about what I have no control over. I just pray about it and that always makes me feel better! 




I always say "I love you" to my family...no matter what! Even when my hubby and I get into a fight we never go to bed without saying it...even if it is with a little hint of an attitude.
