Photo & Prompt Challenge: Day 8

a birthday celebration

I was so excited to have Bug's first birthday party! We went all out and invited lots of family and friends! It was a blast, but lots of work to put together. Good thing I had my mom and dad to help plan and set everything up with me! Her birthday was a princess theme (not Disney, just princess) and it was in my parent's back yard.

I did face painting and we had Princesses...

...and Dragons.
I made Bug her own little cake!
And we had one made with her picture!
She didn't eat any cake though because she was super cranky by then. She didn't nap that whole day!

Photo & Prompt Challenge: Day 7

something I use
every. single. day.
There are a few things I use every single day so I will list the things that I can't skip using!
My coffee pot- if I don't drink coffee Bug is in for a terrible day of mommy being cranky!
My cell phone - I probably use it more than I should.

My computer -I have to at least visit Etsy, Facebook, and my blog!

I can pretty much live without most things for at least a day or two.

Photo & Prompt Challenge: Day 6

a favorite memory

It is so hard to pick just one memory. I haven't been on vacation in a very long time and every time I am with my family is a great memory. One recent one that sticks out is when my parents took us all to the NYC Aquarium and Coney Island! I feel so lucky to live semi-close to NYC and that Bug was able to have this experience. It was hot and a very long day, but it was lots of fun!

Photo & Prompt Challenge: Day 5

my day
I really hope this post doesn't bore you!
I will write how my weekend days go because they are more eventful than the weekdays.
most of my Fridays:
On Friday nights we have my hubby's two boys sleep over. We visit his parents for Friday night dinner which is always amazingly delicious! It includes my mom-in-law, step dad-in-law, brother-in-law and his fiance (who is also one of my best friends), and my other brother-in-law (who we call the good one out of the three of the brothers).
The boys run around and play with Bug so I can actually eat a hot meal! We usually stay up pretty late which usually means sleeping in on Saturday morning!
making silly faces

most of my Saturdays:
We usually get to sleep in until 8am and my hubby goes to the bagel store for our usual orders:
Me- egg or everything bagel with cream cheese...lightly toasted
Hubby- Bacon, Egg, and Cheese
Big Big Brother- Poppy Seed bagel with cream cheese
Little Big Brother- Bacon, Egg, and Cheese (what a good eater)
Bug- a sausage patty (to go with the breakfast I make her)
Sometimes I cook chocolate chip pancakes if we don't get breakfast out.
The boys take a shower and we all get ready for the day.
We usually go to my parents and play all day! We get a home cooked lunch and dinner by my mom and we play all day! I usually bug my sister to change Bug because she is scared to do it! (although lately she has been...as long as it isn't poo!)
We always get dessert before we leave to take the boys home.
yummy!
 most of my Sundays:
I sit around and do nothing usually. Sometimes I'll browse the internet looking at tutorials and try some...or I'll do some other crafty things.
I play with Bug and read lots of books.
I cook Bug's food for the week and freeze it (blah) and since we stay home I cook dinner too.
Once a month (sometimes more if I can handle it) Bug sleeps at my parents so we can have a date night which is awesome!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Here are a couple of fun things to do with the kiddos today:

Wax paper painting:
Have your kiddo paint on a sheet of wax paper.

When your little artist is finished, place another sheet of wax paper over it to cover and press it down so they stick together. (you can also mix glue with the paint but I didn't want a sticky mess...just a mess)

When it is all dry you can cut it into a shamrock and hang by or on a window so the light shines through. (sorry, don't have a pic of that part) :(

Paper Plate Leprechaun Mask:
Have your artist paint green on a piece of sturdy paper and orange on the rim of a paper plate. When the paint is all dry you can cut out the center of the plate to make a mask. Cut a hat shape out of the green paper and attach to the top of the plate with tape or glue. Now have your kiddo hold it up and transform into a little leprechaun! (you can also tape or glue a Popsicle stick as a holder)

Hope you all have a Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Photo & Prompt Challenge: Day 4

an experience that made me who I am today

 This exact moment changed everything!
I carried my daughter for 9 months but no one could ever explain the feeling you get when you hold your baby in your arms for the first time! The love I have for her could never be explained! I never thought I could possibly love someone as much as I love my bug! At this moment I became a mom and it is the best title I will ever hold in my life! I love every bit of it...the crying, whining, sleepless nights, battles of feeding, cleaning messes, changing diapers...the list goes on and on! Her sweetness, cuddles, her "I woo woo" (I love you), kisses, hugs, silliness...all make the other things worth it!

My daughter has made me a better person. I'd like to be a mom who she could look up to & have a great relationship with...like I have with my mom!
