What's Hookin' Good Lookin' {Making a Mustache}

Well, I have been searching and searching for a mustache pattern that isn't round {for free of course since it's not a necessity} but I could not find one that I liked so I tried making my own little pattern. After 3 attempts I finally figured out how to make one I was happy with.

I wanted an applique one so I can add it to mug cozies and such or attach to a stick or some elastic and wear! I can't wait to make a ton of these for a fall craft fair! What do you guys think about it? I should have the pattern up tomorrow. I just need to get the photos watermarked and set up.

Stay tuned...

In the mean time...here's me trying to get Bug to wear it:

What's Hookin' Good Lookin'? {Market Bag}

Sooo...Pinterest is my new crocheting inspiration if you haven't noticed! There are just so many patterns that I never even knew was out there. My "to do" crochet list went from 5 projects to 50 in the few months I've been pinning. Love it though! {follow my Things to Crochet board to see what I pin}

The pattern for this market bag is from Oh the Cuteness

I did the handle part differently though. I made it a drawstring. It was pretty easy to do. Here's how I did it {I kinda winged it so if it's not how you are supposed to do it I apologize}:

After the netting part is made I did the sc around. Then I did (fpdc,bpdc) around. Then another round of sc and fastened off. I then attached yarn to one of the bpdc posts and chained double the stitches I sc'ed around and fastened off. I strung the chain around weaving in and out of the fpdc & bpdc posts and attached it back to the first chain. {If this is confusing and you have a question please comment below or shoot me an email}

I'm pretty happy with how it came out. The only thing is if you are putting in any heavy fruit {like I have here - apples and oranges} you need to have the bag resting on a surface so you can fit more in - otherwise it pulls it down too much.

I just have a question- I made this for a friend who saw my pin but can't crochet. She is my friend so I am giving it to her but she asked how much I charge if others see it and want one. I have no clue how much these would go for so please tell me what you would pay for one of these. I don't even know what to tell her! :)

What's Hookin' Good Lookin'? {Scare away those boo boos!}

I pinned THIS pattern from Crafty is Cool a while back and I finally got around to making some!

I have a few started up in turquoise, hot pink and hot green so far. I made them a little differently. For the bottom I made a little loop at the end and sewed it on about 3/4 of the way to form a little pocket that will button closed. I just ordered some reusable ice cubes and these little guys are going to scare away some boo boos {I'm hoping}.

Here is the turquoise one I have almost done.

I just need to get some black embroidery thread to finish the face. I think she's pretty cute! I can't wait to finish up the rest and make more! They are so quick and easy to work up and I just can't stop! Good thing, because there are 16 reusable ice cubes in the pack I ordered so that sounds like a good amount to make!

These are the cubes I ordered. They were $7.99 with free shipping and came with 16!

{These are now in my shop if you want one but can't crochet 'em - in the accessories section}

What's Hookin' Good Lookin'? {Prayer Shawl Ministry}

Since I moved into our apartment a little over a year ago I have visited a couple local churches and finally found one where I felt we fit in. Bug loves our church and looks forward to it each week! Our church has a Prayer Shawl Ministry where knitters & crocheters get together once a month to make things for donation. I missed the first one I was able to go to due to unexpected plans but I am so psyched to sit around with a bunch of old{er} women and crochet my little fingers off! Since I missed it last month I figured I'd get a head start and make some hats until the next meeting. Here is one I made most recently:

I just love the pattern I have from The Dainty Daisy Blog for this Shell Stitch Beanie. It's super easy and works up quickly!

What's that? You can't crochet/knit but you want to help?! Wow, that's super great of you! You can donate so that I can buy yarn to use for donations or to give to the church for our meetings! Just $2-3 can get a whole skein {roll} of yarn that can make a few small hats!

What's Hookin' Good Lookin'? {Spring/Easter Photo Props}

I'm really late making Easter/Spring photo props, but I'm doing it anyway! I am loving the bonnet pattern I bought so I decided to make a few more in some different ways. I made a bowtie for a baby boy and a matching bonnet for a girl as a twin set and I also made one with a pom pom trim that I am in love with. Oh, one more thing...a chick hat! I can't wait to send them off to In The Moment Photogrophy be Leila

All that's left to do is weave in the ends and sew the bonnet seam...now if only I could find one of my tapestry needles we'd be in business...

And I just have to show off the one I already had sent off to In The Moment Photography...along with a cocoon:

What's Hookin' Good Lookin'? {Pink Everywhere!}

I've been crocheting lots of pink things to send my cousin's way for her fundraising for the Susan G. Komen 3-Day Walk for the Cure. {see more about this here} I was hoping to have more things made by now but Bug still thinks that sleep is optional so it's been tough to sit down and have me time.

Here's what I have so far:

 I also made these cup sleves. I made 9 so far. They are surprisingly quick to work up.
Want the pattern? Get it here.

You can help too! Click the button to donate so I can buy more yarn to crochet for the cause. Just $2.00 can buy a small ball of yarn that can make a few cup sleeves or loads of flowers for pins & clips! That's about the price of your morning coffee...and it can do so much good!

What are you working on? I'd love to see! Comment or leave your link to where I can visit. Happy hooking!

What's Hookin' Good Lookin'? {Baby Bonnet & Linky}

I figured since I'm back in the swing of things that I would share with you what's on my hook {possibly each week}. We'll see how it goes. I added a linky so you can share what's on your hook! I'd love to see. :)

What's on my hook:

I bought this pattern from peapodaccessories
on Etsy. Doesn't it look darling? I couldn't wait to try it out!

My photos are pretty bad, but isn't that stitch pretty?! I am in love! I can't wait to send it off to In The Moment Photography to be photographed on an itty bitty!I'm not sure about the lace though. I used lace ribbon but maybe I should have used something different. Any thoughts before it ships on Saturday?

I have a little sneak peak of what went off to Photography by Crissy over the weekend too! The pom pom blanket is being used in some Easter photo shoots with live bunnies. How cute! I can't wait to share some photos!

Stork Pouch, Pom Pom Blanket, Cocoon & Prince Hat

Now it's your turn to show what's on your hook!
