{Mmm, Mmm, Mondays} Homemade Apple Chips

Bug has been loving apple and banana chips but I was reading the labels as she was eating them {since I originally bought them for me} and realized they weren't as good for you as you would think. Here is a simple {but long-ish} recipe for homemade apple chips that you can make when you know you will be hanging around the house for a couple hours. You can use this recipe for banana chips too, only with banana chips you brush lemon juice on top.

2 apples {large ones}
I peeled ours, but use your judgement. I have made them before with the skins on and I felt peeling it would be better for Bug.
Parchment Paper

Cinnamon & Sugar {optional}

Preheat oven to 200 degrees F.
Slice your apple into thin slices and lay them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Space them close together, but not touching. {if you choose to you can sprinkle with some cinnamon & sugar...we have not done this yet}
Bake in the oven for 2 hours or until dry and crisp. I turned mine over in the middle of baking them.

They didn't make much and they were gone in oh, two seconds! I guess I should have put in more than one baking sheet!

We have had a lot of apples {it being Fall and all} so these were a great snack to make while we were hanging out at home anyway. All natural...and so tasty too!

Couldn't get a picture fast enough before she ate them all up...this was the last chip!
Enjoy!
