I foud a recipe online on how to make homemade natural glue. It uses four ingredients I'm sure you have on hand {and it makes quite a bit}! There have been some recipes I have tried that didn't work out but I want to share the sucess of this one. After I made it it seemed pretty lumpy and I thought it was no good. I put it in a container in the fridge and kind of forgot about it for a few days. When we went to use it, it was liquidy enough for Bug to use a paintbrush to spread it...hooray! I used a drop of food coloring because she has trouble remembering where she puts her glue when making a collage. The glue held just fine, although it took a bit to dry. Probably because Bug likes to drench the paper with it!
Anyhow, it was a sucess! I hope you give it a try. It's way cheaper than a bottle of glue and it will probably last you forever {unless you're a daily glue user}.
Ripped Paper Collage
We made a collage using this glue. I tried having Bug rip up some paper but she struggled a little so I cut slits along each strip to make it a little easier for her but still allowing her to rip it on her own. She is getting toddler scissors for Christmas {shh} so soon we will be practicing cutting!
She ripped quite a bit of paper!
Here is her final work of art with the green glue:
Have fun!
