Tell us a bit about yourself.
I am a full time children's librarian and mom of two. When I'm not working and playing with my kids, I'm creating. My signature fabric flowers adorn jewelry, hair accessories, bookmarks, baby onesies and more.

What is your favorite item to create?
Fabric flowers! I love playing with fabric and turning it into something pretty!

What advice would you give to new artists on Etsy?
Look at your site with the eyes of a buyer. Every once in awhile I type in my web address and look at it as if I was seeing it for the first time. What do I like about it? What isn't working? What pictures are blurry that need retaken? Can I tell what I'm selling in this picture? It helps to just take a step back and see what is and isn't working.

How do you promote your work?
I blog, use Twitter and Facebook. I also use emmalinebride.com and iheartmaternity.com to gain exposure for my site.

Do you have a job outside of Etsy? How do you handle both?
For the next three months I work as a children's librarian however I quit last week to become a full time mommy. I'm working until the end of August and then staying home with my children and working on my Etsy site full time.

Where do you create? 

My glue gun has a permanent spot next to my spot on the couch. After we get the kids to bed, my husband and I sit and watch TV. This is when and where I create my flowers. I keep all my fabric and supplies and containers that I bring out every night. Someday soon I'd love an actually workspace but for now this will have to do!

What are your goals for your shop? 

Since I just quit my day job, I'd love to get to the point where I'm making more sales each week. My goal is to have a steady stream of sales each week. I'd also like to do more wholesaling and get my work in more local boutiques. I hope to keep tweaking my site, promoting and working on creating and listing new items that by the time I am no longer working full time I'll be making enough money to help with my children.
