{Toddler Tuesdays} Make Your Own Recycled Crayons

Bug loves coloring with crayons but they always seem to break into a million pieces because, well, she's a toddler & isn't careful! Instead of throwing those pieces out, why not make some new & colorful crayons! It's so easy & here is how to do it:

What you'll need:
  • Silicone Mold {in whatever shape you want...we used stars}
  • Broken crayons {we used Crayola} or you can use new crayons if you make these for favors like I did {I found a box of 64 for $3 on sale at RiteAid!}
  • An oven
What to do:
  • Preheat your oven to 220 degrees
  • Peel the paper wrapping off the crayons
  • Separate colors into whatever combinations you would like {have fun...we did some rainbow and some 2 toned}
  • Put crayon pieces into mold and bake in oven for about 20-25 minutes {check every 5-10 minutes}
  • When crayons are completely melted, take them out and let them cool.
  • Pop them out of the mold and let cool some more.
  • Color away!

We gave these out at Bug's birthday party in the goody bags!
{and then made some extra for Bug's Aunt Jess since she loves stars!}
