{Mmm, mmm, Mondays} Unsweetened Applesauce

I recently bought a whole bunch of apples because Bug loves frozen chunks for her teething net. After freezing a whole Ziploc bag of them, I still had lots left. Bug has been loving applesauce lately and it is super easy to make (and it's yummy even without sugar)!

What you'll need:

4-5 apples (I used 6 because mine were on the small side)
Cinnamon
Water

Here's what you do:

Cut up the apples into chunks. You can leave the skin on for older toddlers, but for babies you can peel them. Put them in a pot and add 3/4 cup water and about 1/2-1 tsp. cinnamon.

Cook over medium heat for 15-20 minutes. Be sure that there is always water in the pot. If you need to, you can add more as it cooks.

Test the apples and make sure they are soft. You can mash the apples with a potato masher to make chunky applesauce (my fave) or you can use a food processor (or an imitation Magic Bullet) to make it smooth. If you are processing it, you may need to add water to obtain the consistency you would like.

I love this thing!
Want to make it even more delicious? Mix apples with another fruit! I used apples and pears recently and it was so yummy!
