I had originally invited this seller to join The Giveaway Connection Team (come and join) and we got to chatting. I took a look at thecolorclay's shop and mentioned that I loved the Smiley Face Stud Earrings and learned that the shop owners 6 year old son made them! I was so impressed!
I love hearing when families craft together! This shop is full things made by mom & son working together! Isn't that awesome?! I just had to ask some questions:
How did you & your son get into crafting?
When my son was around 4 and started preschool we wanted to get him involved in activities that develop motor skills. Since we are Muslims we wanted to make crafts that had to do with Islamic teachings. Seeing that there were virtually no educational Islamic crafts on the web we started making videos of our own on crafts that had to deal with Islam and education. We started a youtube channel called muslimkidstv (crafts for Muslim kids), later simplekidscrafts (general crafts for educational purposes), and manualidadestv (general crafts in spanish). After that we bought the domains for each site.
What do you and your son work on together?
Mostly we work together on polymer clay crafts and wood crafts.
Seeing that people liked some of the things we made and wanted to purchase them my son decided to open his own store on Etsy and called it thecolorclay.
What is your & your son's favorite craft?
I love children crafts, specially construction paper crafts. My son loves wood crafts the most and enjoys making miniature furniture.
